Services - Fire Extinguishers

Tunbridge Wells Fire Protection Ltd offers all of the neccassary fire extinguishers to combat the different classes of fire. There are six different classifications of fire. Prior to 1997 the body colour of the fire extinguisher indicated which type of fire classification it was suitable to be used on. Modern extinguishers display this information by having a coloured strip on the front of the fire extinguisher.

Fire Classifications

  • Class A - fires involving solids such as paper and wood.
  • Class B - fires involving flammable or conbustible liquids, including petrol, grease, and oil.
  • Class C - fires involving flammable gases.
  • Class D - fires involving combustible metals such as magnesium
  • Class E - fires involving electrical appliances. No longer recognised by EN3
  • Class F - fires involcing cooking fat and oil.
